was a European Osteopath and Physician (DO and MD) and the creator of the ELDOA method, SomaTraining and SomaTherapy techniques.

Dr. Guy VOYER,

Dr. VOYER recognized the integral role of the human fascial system and developed his techniques to honor its importance. Rooted in a deep understanding of biotensegrity, his methods harness the interconnected nature and potential of the fascial system.

ELDOA is a French acronym that translates to Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation Stretching (LOADS) in English. It is an osteopathic form of exercise designed to target specific joints. Through precise, self-initiated fascial tension, an ELDOA creates a fixed point and draws another point away, creating space within the joint—a process known as decoaptation

While most commonly thought of as treatment for the spine, ELDOAs exist to treat accessory joints as well as those of the rib cage, pelvis and cranium.

The ELDOA method

Origins of ELDOA

The ELDOA method came from Dr. VOYER’s desire to heal back pain. He spent years studying different points of view with discernment.

This culmination of information led him to develop an intervention rooted in exercise which addressed the cause rather than the symptom.

Once the method was developed, he began gathering data by teaching and observing his patients. The data he collected reiterated what he already knew to be true - ELDOA provides relief from back pain and an improvement in posture.

A case that exemplifies this is a patient with scoliosis who saw a reduction in their Cobb angle (the spinal curve severity measurement) and the natural degeneration of their spine.

He also discovered that the ELDOA was improving more than posture. It was impacting the functioning of the organ systems as well.

For example - a patient who worked with the ELDOA for back pain additionally reported having relief from pain associated with acid reflux and PMS. This displayed the importance of the fascial continuities.
